Once a thriving logging community and cultural hub, by the 1990’s, Laurel was mostly abandoned.  In the past decade or so, the residents of Laurel pulled together to transform the little town.  You may recognize the names Ben & Erin Napier from their HGTV show Home Town.  With their business partners, Erin and Ben have renovated over 50 homes in and near Laurel.

Our first stop will be at Landrum’s Homestead & Village which is located 10 minutes outside of Laurel.  Next, we’ll head to the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art & listen to a bit of history from the Museum Director.  Spend time discovering what this quaint town has to offer.  When enroute home, we’ll make a quick visit at The Deason Home – The New State of Jones.

Billed as a trivial comedy for serious people by Oscar Wilde.  The play concerns two young gentlemen in Victorian England each of whom has created a false double identity in order to escape responsibilities for a more exciting and frivolous life.  The two false doubles lead to amusing hijinks when one gentleman falls in love with the cousin of the other.  She will only marry someone named Ernest, but alas Ernest is the name of one of the fictitious characters.  When her mother becomes suspicious and begins to investigate, the hilarious truth unfolds.  This is Oscar Wilde’s best-known play.  Come watch as the two gentlemen try to wriggle out of the fantasy they have created.
