Meet at the West End of Fairhope Civic Center no later than 9:45 and we will walk together to 457 Oak Ave. (It’s about a half-mile.) For those who cannot walk, you can take your car to the Castles to be there by 9:55.  A lunch reservation at Cactus Cantina is available for those who want to have lunch on your own with the group after the tour. It is across from the FH Civic Center, so we will walk there as well. Please let us know if you plan to do lunch.

The Fairhope Museum has been recommended by Pagan Mosher, owner of one of the Castles, as it has additional information about them. It is free for those who would like to go there after lunch.

Chickasaw Theater production.  After bickering and quarreling all day at work, Georg and Amalia head home to continue a warm and happy correspondence with a pen pal they’ve never met. Neither can believe it when they discover that all this time they’ve been writing to each other. It’s a familiar plot (The Shop Around the Corner, In the Good Old Summertime, You’ve Got Mail), but this version is a charming musical with book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.

If you have ever wanted to view the inside of the beautiful Greek Orthodox Church in Malbis, now is your chance.  Join Frida Schnitzler and Alan Carrio and our tour guide, Angelo, to learn the fascinating history of the church and area.  Members will drive their own cars to meet at the church.  After the tour, those members wishing to join others for lunch can go to nearby Kravers Seafood in Daphne.  Lunch is on your own.

On December 4, 1956, a twist of fate brought together Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee. Million Dollar Quartet is a celebration of the contagious spirit, freewheeling excitement, and thrilling sounds of the once-in-a-lifetime event where 4 of music’s best talents came together. This is a rocking night of classic music!  

On the way up to the Alabama Shakespeare Theater in Montgomery, we will be stopping at the Conecuh Sausage Store for a quick bite. After the play, we will be eating at Nanny’s Place in Greenville. Then on to Wind Creek Casino to spend the night. Wednesday morning you are on your own to enjoy the amenities the casino offers, while those who signed up for brunch will be cooking and enjoying their class. After the class, we will be leaving for home. Dinner at Nanny’s is included, but all other meals are on your own.
