Wetumpka and Wine Train

October 12-13, 2022

Cost: $190 double occupancy/ $230 single

Hosts: Rae Miller and Mary Jane Vines

This two-day fun-filled trip will include a bus tour of Wetumpka to see the restoration done by Hometown HGTV.  We then visit the Crater Museum after which you are on your own to walk around town or visit the Wind Creek casino.  The following day travel to Calera, AL to ride a train to enjoy a wine tasting and lunch at Ozan Winery.

Conecuh Sausage Festival and Rodeo

Take a short bus ride up the Interstate to Evergreen, AL, home of the famous Conecuh Sausage Company.  100 arts and crafts vendors, food tents, and lots and lots of SAUSAGE.  There also will be a fly-in aerial show, antique car show, AND PCA Rodeo finals that begin at 7:30 p.m.

Blue Angels Pensacola Bay Ferry Cruise

Pensacola is the perfect place to see the famous Blue Angles practice their thrilling aerial maneuvers.  With the Naval Air Station right on the bay, viewers can enjoy an unobstructed vantage point of the aerobatic flying team.  The boat offers many amenities, such as air conditioning seating, restrooms, and seating both inside and up and top.   After the performance, the bus will take us to McGuire's Irish Pub where lunch will be on your own.

Airbus Facilities Tour

Meet at West End of Fairhope Civic Center no later than 9:45 and we will walk to 457 Oak Ave. (It’s about a half-mile.) For those who cannot walk, you can take your car to the Castles to be there by 9:55.

A lunch reservation at Cactus Cantina is available for those who want to have lunch on your own with the group after the tour. It is across from the FH Civic Center, so we will walk there as well. Please let us know if you plan to do lunch.

The Fairhope Museum has been recommended by Pagan Mosher, owner of one of the Castles, as it has additional information about them. It is free for those who would like to go there after lunch.

Cirque du Soleil Holiday Dreams at the New Orleans Saenger Theatre

Come join hosts Susan Ames and Carol Balch for an after-Thanksgiving trip to New Orleans to see Cirque de Soleil's "Holiday Dreams" at the Saenger Theater on Sunday evening, November 27, 2022.  An early dinner (on your own) will be at The Shed in Mississippi before the performance.  We will stay at the Holiday Inn that evening.  After breakfast at the hotel, we will then go to the WWII Museum to tour the facility, see an IMAX movie, then have lunch and a show at the Stage Door Canteen before heading home that afternoon.  Tickets are limited so plan to sign up early!
